A warm welcome to

Wigtownshire county golf club

Scottish Golf’s Hidden Gem

Welcome to Wigtownshire County Golf Club

The ‘County’ is one of the most popular holiday golf courses in South West Scotland, an 18-hole, true links course situated on the shores of Luce Bay.

The excellent condition of the course, combined with subtlely sloping greens and changing sea breezes, provide a test of golf for both high and low handicappers. The area enjoys a temperate climate, so golfing is possible year round, and the club is renowned for its friendly welcome to visitors.

10% off all visitor green fees in August & September

Book a tee time from 1st August to 30th September and get 10% off. Please contact the club directly for this offer.

Please contact the clubhouse to book this package; not available via the club’s web site or on the Scottish Golf App.

Wigtownshire County is a great place to enjoy winter golf!

Located on the shores of Luce Bay, the combination of a mild winter climate and natural drainage means the course is seldom closed and winter greens are a rare occurrence.

CLUB UPDATES

UPDATE 19 July 2021

COVID update from Wigtownshire County
As you know, mainland Scotland moved to Protection Level Zero on Monday 19 July 2021. Consequently, a number of changes to Covid protocols can be made at all golf clubs in Scotland, including:
1. Indoor Hospitality can be extended to groups of ten people from four households;
2. All golf course furniture can be returned for normal use, including the removal of flagsticks, standard hole cups and bunker rakes;
3. Preferred lies in bunkers (within six inches) can remain in place at each club’s discretion, recognising that not every golfer may wish to use a communal rake.
4. The wearing of masks remains compulsory throughout the clubhouse unless you are seated
Great news for those golfers who prefer to putt with the flag out and who enjoy raking sand!

Wife and I enjoyed the course and the courtesy and friendliness of both clubhiuse and greens staff. Although the course... has suffered a bit due to the earlier prolonged drought the greens were magnificent. It was not our first visit and we hope to return later in the year.read more
